Another find from the antiques fair, this diminutive vase by Welz was an absolute bargain, which I had to snap up right away, despite already being replete with other loot.
It's a little cutie, & although not quite the same as the small pink Welz vase that I was lamenting about selling, it is an admirable replacement.
It measures 12 cm tall, 5.3 cm across the cut top rim (the ribbed pattern gives it a dainty crimped effect) & 5 cm across the base, which does not have a pontil mark.
The vase is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over pink stripes, with an opaline white interior. It has an allover ribbed pattern & each side bears a stylised daisy within a circular hollow. There are two clear applied "rustic" handles.
I hope this one brings a smile to all the fans of Welz, Victorian art glass, & pink glass out there!

Love the sound of the pair of vases you have in your cabinet...mine's just gone into a cabinet in my kitchen which has a display of assorted Tango glass & Victorian Welz...it goes great with my pink Tango glass...

Sounds like a fab haul, my friend - pink is a happy colour to lift the spirits for sure...it's a touch of springtime any time you need it...& so great to see you back on deck here at CW.
