I can read the word special but there is another word above it. Can anyone identify this stove? Is it worth restoring?

Nice stove!!! Great detail. Do you have the covers? Would look great even if it's not used as a stove!!! I love cast iron!!!! Welcome to CW!!

That is a Quad Special Parlor stove. Should be a number on it. Made in Columbus, Ohio. Does it have a fixed grate or a shaker grate? Be careful with it as you go forth, some of these in good condition go for thousands.
Here is a refurbished example.

I'm not sure on the fixed grate or shaker grate - what is the difference? I'll try and google that so I can answer it better...lol I'm still searching for the lids for the top but I have two huge buildings that are packed to the ceiling so there is still hope of finding them. thank you for all your help !
It’s beautiful- I hope you will get it fixed up and post the results someday!
Miksss a fixed grate is used on a wood stove while a shaker grate is used on a coal stove. You didn't show pictures of the sides so we can't tell if it is a shaker. Shakers have a place on the side where you put a handle and shake the grate so the embers fall into the ash pan. A good many of these Quads were converted to gas when natural gas became available.
Hello! I just purchased a stove like this today. I thought it was complete, but in fact after research (where I found this newsletter) I discovered it is actually missing 3 pieces. How do I find the names of the parts I am missing? Is there an online outlet for stove parts? (Miksss, did you ever restore your stove?) Thanks so much!
