Dark blue with white speckles that is, which I think is a relatively commonish pattern/color for oldish enamelware. [fortapache, aren't you our resident enamelware expert? fix me if I'm wrong with that! :-) ] Also for the record, I actually found *two more* of these likewise nearly identical just yesterday, after the pics of these 1st two were taken. <sigh>
The larger lid is 11-1/2" across, the smaller 10-1/2". The bigger one has not only a slightly 'smooshed' handle, but a kinda odd 'residue' (?) on its underside which I havta think is evidence it's spent many years atop a potful of *something*...?? The smaller one has the same sort of affliction to its underside to a lesser degree. Both (again mostly the larger) also have assorted random dings typical of old enamelware.
Gimme a few days and I'll clean up/get pics of the other two, then adjust this or add another post for them... ;-)
THANKS bobby725, fortapache, Newfld, Watchsearcher, Brunswick, & vetraio50 for your <love it>s!!
As matter of minor correction, after looking again yesterday it turns out there's only one more pot lid like these still out there in the carport...the other one is a simple round tray instead, probably much newer and intended for use in a convection/microwave oven.
