One more biggish (if not really 'oldish'?) enamelware pot from the cleanout house. It is essentially plain white in color with a black rim and handles, no matching lid has yet to be found for it. [but at least one of the old blue speckled ones fits it? ;-) ] It measures about 12" across and 8" deep, having only a few minor dings to its surfaces. What makes me doubt its actual age is (lack of more general wear, and) the fact that there are several spots on it where there are obvious "runs" in the white enamel coating -- look close at pic #1 and you can kinda see some of that near the top edge of its inside, there are other similar at a couple places on its outside also near its top edge. All this leads me to suspect it is more of a 'low end contemporary repro, probably imported' item -- but even that doesn't necessarily mean it won't turn out to be useful around here some future day or other, ifn's I'd ever get the itch to try to cook up a big 'ole pot of "something"...?? <giggle>
I am thinking 1930s-1950s. The imported stuff from China has a splatter pattern. Could be from Japan but probably US.
The damage spots are actually a good sign.
THANK YOU so much fortapache, how interesting that maybe it *could* be older than I'd guessed?!! :-)
More THANKS to vetraio50, Brunswick, bobby725, Watchsearcher, & Broochman for stopping by with your <love it>s!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
