My very best lamp marriage yet! This shade is a Loetz Chine in hellrosa. It has 8 ruffles, is ribbed, the base glass is mattiris and the threads are clear. The fitter rim is nicely ground and the interior is a beautiful silberiris.
The lamp is a stunning Art Nouveau rendition of an Opium Poppy (Papaver somniferum) which often come in whites, pinks and purples. The shade fits so well that I am inclined to think it was made for this base! A Chine shade on an Opium Poppy lamp is a fortuitous coincidence.
The lamp is of superb quality and looks like a Majorelle from the Ecole Nancy. If anyone knows who made this lamp, please let me know.
