Another piece from Bernard Instone for you today. There must have been a lot of work gone into this piece, the enamelling is truely amazing, the colours stand straight out at you and with the wirework adornment surrounding the circular enamel drome I think it speaks for itself.
The box has been totally hammered which would have been by hand, if you look at the photo of the 2 halves you can see the hammered work from the inside. It’s also a early Instone piece y for the year 1923.
Many thanks for looking.

Awww thanks MALKEY, yes it the vibrant colours cheers you up. Really appreciate your lovely comment. I suppose the weather in Newcastle is windy and cloudy not forgetting cold. Keep safe Jean.

C O L O R ! WoZz
Thank you Jenni, to be honest I don’t think I’ve seen this type of mosaic colouring on Bernard Instone pieces, the enamelling is usually blue very much like turquiose.
Your comment is much appreciated.
Awww thank you Vynil33rpm.
Really lovely Jean, what a treat to see it ! Its so nice to see goodies on here because it does distract from all the woes of the world. The enamel on this is really just like an abstract painting , reminds me of a Jackson Pollock :) Thanks Jean.
Hi Sue, I’d never heard of Jackson Pollock so had to google him. Yes I think your right the enamelling is very similar to his style of painting, I’m pleased that you gave me that information, I always try to research names that people give me and read about them. I wish this box would go for the prices his paintings go for, lol. Yet again thanks for passing by and sharing your knowledge. :-)))))
Many thanks
