Please help me figure out what year this may be have been made. I’ve seen photos of many but at the top front where the outer “screws” are never have 4, I’ve only seen 3. What would be in the inner box area that’s empty?
My neighbor has this one and I told him I’d buy it but we have no idea what it’s worth. Missing the hand piece and whatever may have been inside in the bottom box area. I’ve seen so many crazy prices from $75 to over $500. Any guidance you can give me, I’d be extremely appreciative.
Looking to hear from anyone who knows something about this or where I can find another that can help
$150 is a fair price for all parties. Probably circa 1900. Looks like you need ttomtucker for real help as I am a more casual collector.
@fortapache thank you. That’s more information than I had before I found this site. I’m not sure exactly how to respond to a particular person, hopefully you received this. How do I contact ttomtucker? I’m assuming that’s the way to spell it and it wasn’t a typing error ????
Stromberg-Carlson was founded in 1894 in Chicago, ILL. the company moved to Rochester, NY in 1903. Your phone was manufactured around 1902. It has the early
lighting arrester . the receiver should be what they call a brass bottom . You can find them on Ebay. Now days the price for a single box wall phone is around 125.00 to 150.00
Well, not that it’s a big thing but I bought the phone and am in love!! Lol! Now I just need to find the piece you listen through, a receiver? And I need a key. Can anyone tell me what was supposed to be in the bottom empty place inside the box shown in the last photo? Also, does anyone know what that stamped number indicates? Thanks. Y’all have been very helpful.
