This isn't so much "difficult" as it is just plain weird. If you are a fan of some of the stranger players of 1960s bachelor pad jazz - you know, like Yma Sumac and Esquivel - you will find this to be one of the strangest.
And it looks so innocent - Elsa Popping and her Pixieland Band - but Elsa doesn't exist. Elsa Popping and her Pixieland Band were actually a well-known French musician Andre Popp and a genius sound engineer and effects master Pierre Fatosme. Together they created this masterpiece of creative studio madness. This is bachelor pad jazz at its - I was going to say screwiest but I think that was the object of bachelor pad jazz - this is bachelor pad jazz at its most diverting.
Nice one artfoot!
Thanks for the links.
Andre Popp wrote "Love Is Blue" - this album was a diversion for him as well.
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells! Great one.
