Hi collector friends! hope all is well with you, thought I would show you my latest collectible I got today, it's a 1920's 5 gal rocker oil can labeled EN-AR-CO Motor Oil. Cleveland Ohio. This is my first one to get and got it after some back and forth dealing on E-Bay, I hoped it would clean up better but it didn't, oh well still glad to add to my collection, some day I might decide to restore it but not now, enjoy and keep safe!
Put it in Citric Acid, submerge it for a few hours. There are videos on YouTube of people using it to clean up beer cans. I was told to do it with a Sinclair rocker I just got.
Thanks Trey, I'll look into that!
cool can................
Thanks Crazyguy!
Trey.. I watched the youtube citric acid ones and decided to try it on one side of this can and unfortunately it took of to much paint probably because any paint remaining on this can was thin so I don't recommend doing it. oh well it was worth a try.
Well shoot.
Trey I did the bad side so no big deal so eventually I will restore that side but the other side I will leave it and also so you know if the paint is thin and chalky it will come off but glossy paint might be ok.
