Here is a 4 1-2"H x 5"W lavender ice glass kingfisher bird produced by Dalzell Viking for the Heisey Collectors of America in 1993 from the Gem Animal Series, and imprinted HCA 93 on base. Original Heisey kingfisher design of the 1920s-1930s
Love this guy, I would have loved to put him in our farm kitchen window, where the colourful birds gathered at times. Actually just place him in the yard and watch all the visitors !~
Nice Kingfisher, it’s color is lovely! Yes, agree with Phil, this would great in a kitchen window with the light hitting it
Very nice, you'd almost expect a kingfisher to be coloured a deep blue but pink is a very unusual colour for him. It's very restful and reminiscent of dawn or dust on a wintry riverbank rather than a really summery one. His pose also makes it seem as though he's just heard a fish splashing somewhere- it's a very dynamic sculpt...:P
Thank you so much for the love

Thank you Phil for the super compliment, I think that is a great idea putting him in the yard or window as it is definitely a life size bird and would probably be quite the attraction to his other feathered friends! I too love this type crested bird, other faves are cardinals & bluejays
MrsT it does look prettier when the light hits it, you will be glad to know as I remember your asking, I finally got a display tower to hold most of my glass animal collection! I am just working on putting a finish on it, have it placed next to a sunny window to give optimum light to my "critters." Thank you for the lovely compliment as always
Thanks Lauren for your fabulous praise and great imagination, I can really envision this bird resting on a riverbank! Yes one would think of him in kingfisher blue (a lovely color) but I think this one only came in the original clear crystal and this pinkish lavender color, some glass co's weren't very diverse with color and that's why lately I've been seeking new vintage makers because I prefer colored glass
Thank you TexasJack for the love, it is very kind of you and much appreciated
