7 foot long blacksmith’s tongs. I know most smiths made their own tools for what they were doing, but I can’t find any info on what these would have been for. There were a lot of railroad antiques with these but they weren’t listed as railroad items. Anyone have an idea?
I wonder if they are used in making glass art?
Longest ones I ever happened to see someone own were four foot campfire tongs. Way long ago volunteer fire departments had them longer but I have no idea how long they were. To many years ago.
I found a drawing of a man standing in front of an enormous furnace with a long set of tongs and he had a chain hanging with the pivot of the tongs setting in the hook. Wish I knew what he was doing
Looks more like tongs used in glass blowing.
