    I didn't take a picture of it but on the side it says shine 10 cents. Neat old kit that served a purpose and still has presence today.

      I used to shine shoes at a Cobbler Shop on weekends back in the late 50's!!! Sad to say you can't put a Shine on a Sneaker Today!!! Great Post!!

      You actually gave me a smile and fond memory of something I heard my dad say a few times when I was a child. Regarding the shoe polish, Shinola.
      Perhaps you have also heard it “back then” when someone was speaking with disdain about someone else: “He doesn’t know s—t from Shinola”.

      Go to youtube and enter Tom T. Hall's song Shoeshine Man He wrote a lot of true to life songs!!! Watermelon Man was another one!!! Shinola was true said it a few times myself!!!
