I posted this model earlier along with an XKE but now I have a box for it so it gets its own post.
This model was made from 1964-1968. It was sold in an E Style box like this from 65-68. This is the third of four of the variations of the box so I am thinking the box is 1967. As the box and car were separate purchases I can not nail down the exact year.
Now for the 1:1 version. It is a salon car made through the 1960s. This version shows the straight 6 engine. It was capable of speeds up to 120 mph. It never reached its sales goals especially in the US. Perhaps because a Dodge Dart with a V8 could do better than 120 MPH but not in as much style.
Got a 5 star post for next week's Matchbox Monday so stay tuned!
Great update with the Box! super cool Item.
Having the box always rules!
Mk10 Jags look like a a local landholder who has had too much pheasant and port; just a bit overblown really.
I still occasionally see them here mainly as wedding cars, but the ugly stretch limo is slowly taking over that scene.
Thank you very much Lata.
Thank you very much iggy and yes!
Thank you very much racer4four. Well put. I hear it was half the price of a Rolls but at that point I would go for the Rolls.
Stretch limos just say rental.
