This blacksmith made shoemaker's hammer was actually used by a travelling Irish tin smith. In the 1950's one of these travellers camped near to the home of a friend of mine who was very young at the time and remembered the tin smith mending and making items by the roadside. After the traveller had moved on my friend found this hammer which he had left behind and about 50 years later he gave it to me for my collection of old tools.
Great detail!! The blacksmith who made that had to have been very good. Regards, Lou
Thanks Lou. This is one of my favourite items, mostly because of the story that goes with it.
