At the end of WWII, former Homefront women and Military women alike began to put their real pearls away and embrace the new jewelry that was appearing in local department stores. Pink was one of the most desired colours in the new jewelry that appeared immediately after WWII. Many jewellers created their costume sets to somewhat imitate the old pearls that had been stored ... while also adding “modernizing” elements.
The immediate post-war pinking craze was not confined to only jewelry, of course. Women who wore the new pink jewelry also wore fluffy new pink sweaters, pink silk dresses made in Montreal ... and ordered pink linoleum from the Eaton’s Catalogue, bought pink dinettes at Hudson’s Bay, and installed pink roofs on their new houses.
This is a plastic necklace set. The earrings are early clips. It is marked Japan on both the necklace hook and the earrings.
The brooch is perhaps European. It is unmarked. The stones are crystals. It has a trombone clasp.

Coordinated Brooch — 2 1/4” high x 1 1/8” wide
Wow, this really changes my mind about only white pearls, this light pink is still pure enough to cause this much interest, who knew ?? The findings on the set are interesting too, but prob not Sherman but of high interest !~

Newfld — There are times — for me, for sure — that these pink and pearl sets seem oh so right. Pearls can “always” be a correct choice. Smiles.
Eileen — This lady had the matching real pearls. I just didn’t post them. Didn’t like the appearance when they were placed together. Yes, she would — Beaver Cleaver’s mother. Great waist! Smart ab work. There are some days that are still skirt and blouse days. lol
