Super nostalgic bar book from the legendary Waldorf, I know it was said to be where the Rob Roy cocktail was invented. Nice find Ted!

If nothing else, at the moment I'm most amused by the particular brands of alcohol mentioned by name (Bacardi rum at first glance since it's still commonly available) vs. other drink ingredients maybe not specifically mentioned thusly, current availability or not. Kirchwasser (whoevever makes/made it) is one that I've never really managed to find my own bottle of keramikos (though I've got a mason jar still 1/3 full of 'moonshine cherries' somewhere in the back corner of the fridge that'll kick your a** right into the bed, with one or three and a spoonful or two of their juice topping a little bowlful of vanilla ice cream...? <lol>) but there are one or two of the modern-day equivalents of 'absinthe' bottles up in the booze cabinet...?? ;-) :-)

Kinda was thinking exactly that, kera -- THANKS for the additional info! :-) :-)

Also for the record sounds like something I'd probably like... ;-) ...gotta make it a point to peruse the 'liqueurs' shelves a little closer the next time I get down to my favorite local bottle shop... <giggle>

Thank you, everyone for your loves and comments!

I have tried some of these concoctions, and have found them to be delightfully refreshing! Changing the "old time" measurements, and finding some of the ingredients can be a challenge....but the effort is very much worth it!!!!
