I'm calling these items wire junctions because I don't know what they are actually called. In the days before electricity, door bells, servants bells, etc, were all rung by pulling on a handle which was connected to the bell by wires which ran through the house. When a wire needed to change direction, one of these items was hammered into a beam and the wire attached to each loop. The brass part on top of the spike swivels. Over a long distance quite a few of these items might be used. About 3 inches long.
Hello, Those are very cool!! So, the wire was a mechanical connection, not an electrical one? Thanks, Lou
That's right Lou, I came across a man in a market selling a box of these so I just bought three. Probably should have bought the lot, they were in the original box too.
great find.... yep, you should have bought the whole box. ... never saw them before
Thank you hotairfan, if only we acquired wisdom a little earlier in life,
