I do have that little ball thing through the door that rings the bell, I just never paid attention to it. I know every time I struggle to lift it they ping. Your right, I do believe it’s some type of textured paper or tape on the coils. I figured it was leather or something because it’s in good shape with no tears. There are a couple of very thin wires from the coils but not attached to anything anymore. Have metal wires and string going every whichaway. I’d like to replace the missing wires and attached them where they go. Also buy the part to talk into and whatever was in the inside bottom. Don’t intend to attempt to make it work but I want it to look like it would. Thanks a lot for your input.
