We are wondering if this is a real Josef Hoffman Moser glass vase. How can we tell? It has "Josef Hoffman" , "Moser" and "1920" etched around the perimeter of the bottom. Please see photos for details.

Sorry Debbie. It is not the right signature. The great man's name was Hoffmann with two "n's". Some of his facsimile signatures can be seen on the net:

I AM SO SICK OF FAKE SIGNATURES ON ART GLASS THAT I COULD SCREAM. SADLY, I HAVE TWO WONDERFUL PIECES WITH FAKE TIFFANY SIGNATURES. YESTERDAY I FOUND TWO VASES WITH FAKE DURAND SIGNATURES. THESE FAKERS SHOULD BE PUT BEFORE AN "ART GLASS FIRING SQUAD" AND SHOT. FWF
I have seen some great original early 20th century art glass with fake Tiffany signatures that ruined the piece for me.
Hoffmann would not have written out his full signature anyway. He has a known stylized initial mark, as did most of the Wiener Werkstatte designers.
