Here's another snag from the cleanout house (#1) simply because I happened to discover it there. (what's in *this* little bag??)
Pretty certain of what it is and definitely remember its maker's name (because I remember the days before cellphone cameras, etc) but I don't ever think I had one as fancy as this -- much less do I have an idea where this particular model/etc lied anywhere along the spectrum of such cameras when they were new, nor even much of a clue of its general age. (1980's?? 90's??)
Seen here in slightly dirtier condition than anybody whoever first owned it likely kept it...it is what it is now... ;-)
No matter...here it is. <lol> Better than being so much more dumpster food if nothing else...? :-) Oh and BTW there isn't any film remaining in it, which I only discovered this afternoon while taking the pics of it (with my phonecam) and inadvertently hit whatever button on it opens its back cover where the film goes in... <giggle>
Cool! I have a Pentax WR(weather resistant) 35 mm camera. I haven't used it in a long time though.
The Pentax MV dates to 1979.
Gracious THANKS to iggy and rniederman for your comments, especially for the date info rneiderman. :-) :-) :-) Also of course to fortapache, Newfld, vetraio50, iggy, brunswick, poticheman, & MALKEY for tapping your <love it> buttons in the meantime!! :-) :-) :-) :-)
FWIW, I think I'm ultimately gonna give this camera (and a few other oldish Polaroids from the cleanout house, etc.) to a friend/former neighbor who collects vintage cameras. They won't likely become 'showpieces' in her collection, but mebbe she'll enjoy displaying 'em anyway with the rest of hers?? ;-) :-) :-)
Seems the lens its made in Taiwan & the body in Japan ... , did you pull the battery to check for mold or a break down of the battery ? I myself would take some Q tips a little bowl of water use very little water on them cleaning in a circle twisting the tip as you apply it ..should clean up pretty good ,,, some will say "Taiwan ..Pfffffff "but they have the same QC as Japan And the glass is most likely from japan rather then give up there secrets on making the glass to other country's that's also make them ....I picked up a Cosinon 50 mm m42 lens for 5 dollar's lately, some that know little about lenses would say Pfffff ...lol but its very high end glass and they make lenses for the top German camera makers .....ike Ziess for one ... and so on. ,good luck on yours ..
