Also an experiment in nighttime 'flash photos', as yesterday when the 2nd bud shown here a couple days ago

    https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/282263-another-pretty-flower-that-popped-up-in

really *did* pop itself open, it was otherwise a nasty gloomy rainy day outside, such not prompting me to go take fresh pics. Today I didn't have time to do so until after the sun had already gone down (though it was otherwise a lovely sunny day) so let's see what'll happen with these. The one on the bottom of the pics is the original, the one near the top is the fresh new bloom.

These pics also offered here today in memory and honor of the life of Dedrea Nathaniel, 46 yrs old, my partner's little sister. We just got word yesterday afternoon of her recent passing due mostly to pre-existing medical conditions. Though I only met her briefly once or twice myself (and am not even convinced she 'liked me'...long story there) I remain comforted that she is now relieved of her earthly pain and in a better place now, maybe even cracking a little grin somehow for the pretty orange flowers...??

That’s such a sweet sentiment for Dedria. May she be remembered every time your lily blooms.

Thank you so very kindly for your condolences Vynil33rpm, Watchsearcher, & Keramikos. I do hope she liked the color orange Watchsearcher, because I no doubt will think of her every year when it blooms.

Funny (? oh crap, here comes that 'long story'...) thing about Dedria. The first time we ever met face to face was also the very first day I myself ever showed up at 'the cleanout house' w/my partner and others...me definitely being the 'odd man out' in that group and not even realizing until later that she, in fact, had actually been the last occupant of the house before the rest of us showed up that Saturday morning to start tossing and hauling its contents to the curb -- and that she in fact spent a few hrs at least sitting in the passenger seat of another brother's SUV right out front observing all the 'goings on' that morning...during that time she got out and wandered inside a few times which was indeed the first time we 'met' (but were not 'introduced') where she generally tended to kinda disapprovingly glare at whoever was wherever digging thru or hauling out whatever... <eeek> The 2nd time we met was probably about a month or so ago, when I was the only one with a handy vehicle at the moment when she found herself not being able to get her regular dialysis treatment at her usual place, because they'd otherwise picked up a covid-19 hazard in their facility, and she thus needed a ride to a local ER which we promptly provided. Hope those two things sorta equaled themselves out in her mind...and that she'd ultimately approve of all the fun I've had with all the stuff from that house...? :-)

More THANKS of course to fortapache, Newfld, vetraio50, aura, Brunswick, yougottahavestuff, & glassiegirl for adding your <love its>, too!

She would approve. Getting someone to dialysis truely is “a life saver”. You, by the simple act of driving a car with her inside, became her “Knight in Shining Armor”.

A most kind and meaningful comment once more Watchsearcher, thank you from the bottom of my heart. :-) :-) :-)
