    Just bought this folk art military boat
    24inx23in patent date on deck July 24 1877 and a stamp Re-issue 1882.
    If anyone could give me more information would be great

      Pretty cool. It looks like it is based on a Spanish-American war ship like the Olympia.

      I cannot speak to your specific ship; but when I worked as an assistant curator at a military museum, there were many such models donated, which had been built by retired and not RCN men. I suggest you contact your nearby military museums for assistance.

      Nice toy ship of the USS Philadelphia.

      The shipped was launched in 1889, long after the patent dates. The patent dates appear to be for some part of the toy-- maybe the wheels/ some other mechanism?

      I found out through model ship world
      That this is a pull toy, paper litho Over wood the Reed/Bliss company. The dates of patents Are for the toy designs I think?and this toy dates probably early 1890s
