A 1940s BSA First Aid kit. I can tell because the booklet has a copyright date of 1942. Neat kit here. Some peices have been replaced like the Curity bandages which are not original. A Johnson and Johnson kit like this would have Band-Aid brand bandages. Those and the disinfectant are usually the only pieces used. We go through tons of band aids at work. The tiny Metaphen bottle is here although empty and still has the paper sleeve. That is the antiseptic probably like mercurochrome. Also it has a tiny bottle of Halazone tablets which is full! Those are for purifying water. Something you use if you have to but apparently no one did and no one wanted to chance it. Who wants to check if they still work?
Another interesting piece is the sling which a part of can be seen in photo #3. It has illustrations showing the various ways it can be used. Sadly I can not get it folded back up again to fit in its tiny space.
Lastly it fits on a belt. There is a piece of metal where the belt fits. Not sure why it is there.
I will probably do a separate post on this for the little bottles and some other pieces so stay tuned to this website!
