This is actually a rare tin despite looking like something that was in a pile of trash for a couple decades. But then some people like rust. I know a Rose Bowl seller who only sells items with rust. Do not think he is the only one. And the places that don't have rust have patina. Plus it makes it $80 less than a mint example.
This is part of the frontier town set. There was an Inn and some others I believe. All the ones I have looked up say 1950s but I haven't found a source to back them up. They may be copying each other but 1950s does seem reasonable.
Once again as one who lives in a log cabin I collect these and that is the collection.

Love it, maple syrup? Do you think they put this on the table, or filled a syrup canister to serve it? How big are they? Thanks for posting, as usual.

Thank you very much truthordare. It would normally be poured straight from the tin. It was a pint 8 fluid ounces. It is about 5" x 5" so not large at all.
