    one of my great aunt's heirlooms from her childhood, this beautiful butter dish has a slight pinkish cast in certain lighting...around 177 years old...

      It's old, but nowhere near 177 years. This is pattern No. 124 made by Indiana Glass Company, more commonly known as "Daisy and Button with Narcissus" about 1910. See:

      Pieces of this pattern were still being offered in the company's 1932 catalog.

      paul71...thanks so much for ur help...when my aunt gave this to me 27 years ago, she said it was 150 yrs old at that time...i cant wait to look it up ...im amazed at the knowledge on this site...thx again fa ur reply...

      found it...thank u so much paul71...u are exactly right...Daisy & Button with Narcissus, ca 1910, found it in old ads from Indiana Glass...this is so much fun when u learn where to go for information...cant figure where my great aunt thought it was 150 years old, but i dont really care about the age...happy to find its home :)

      I agree, CB. Glass and other things should be appreciated for what they are, regardless of age. Older doesn't necessarily mean better. Glad to help.
