Found this silver butter dish and dome at a new thrift store that opened today. Picked this out for $2.88 and found out it’s made by Zeesung in Shanghai in the 1900’s or 1910’s. It even has the glass dish insert! Weighs a hefty 218.4 grams of silver! Definitely a great find!
Update: gave it a quick polish!
Wow that is a nice find.
Great silversmith and very collectible.
An excellent dragon there!
I hate you. It would be nice to see a photo after the polish! Lucky you, congrats.
@carmenisacat , the main photo is the polished version. I ran out of my polishing solution so I just used a quick batch of Baking a Soda and a soft brush. But once you compare the two photos it’s a night and day difference lol.
What an extraordinary find. I once found a christening cup and matching plate made by WK Vanderslice...even the name on the cup was appealing...John B. Daggett haha. My kids and I call it the John B. Daggett. I hope you cherish yours as much as we cherish my $20 investment. Peace and I still hate you hahaha.
