Well, that's what I think this rusty old garden tool is for anyway...?
A little over 3' long, it has nine cast iron tines affixed to a wooden shank with a handle at its other end. There are no maker's marks on it that I can find now.
Maybe more for gathering potatoes after they have been dug and left out to dry or a stone fork or beet fork. The more you think about it the more uses come to mind. I think there's too many tines for a digging fork.
One more of those 'possible uses' that occurred to me (but I didn't mention) was maybe a, shall we say, 'manure moving device'...??? <eeechh>
It could also be a "rail ballast" fork.
It's a silage fork. Spent many hours of my youth using one just like that on the farm.

I have one of these also. I will have to check it more closely.
Irishcollector., Onedtent, iggy, & especially srarman for your most informative comments -- that certainly looks like a modern version of the very same tool!!
