old wooden 'extension wand'

This old wooden rod would have been meant to screw onto another tool (paint or wallpaper paste roller, squeegee, or any somesuch of a myriad of other kinds of things) to extend the reach of the human being otherwise using whatever that tool was. This one in particular wasn't probably used by a painter (with its near total lack of the dripped 'evidence' that would have resulted if it had been, I have one or two newer and less interesting ones that obviously *were* used by painters) so maybe it was used by a window washer instead...I have no idea.

I find it interesting/unusual because of its threaded on the wood (male?) end (vs. a separate metal fitting) while its other end does have a nicely made metal (female?) fitting. I'd guess (and only guess) its 'male' end was meant to hold the 'other tool', the 'female' end to perhaps further extend the total reach of the thing if necessary.

I have not found any marks on it to identify its maker, etc. Once more totally guessing it could be somewhat pre-mid century, when such things probably started to be made from lightweight aluminum instead.
