I found this WW2 cot at a thrift store. The canvas was replaced at some point though this one was still blood-stained when I got it. The cot had been through a fire prior to that. I dismantled it, cleaned it up, washed the canvas, teak-oiled the wood, and have since painted the metal pieces gray as they had been at some point. Lightly stained wood and white canvas demarcates these as field hospital cots compared to dark wood and green cots for GIs. While still made today, those from before Vietnam have no mounting holes for mosquito netting and are wooden. Chinese remakes just look cheaper but can be had on Amazon.
