This is part of a 2 part as this came with another exciting model I will post next week. This one is the 1953 Buick "Super" Convertible.
One may not believe this but the Buick Super was a large car. Depending on the options it could weigh up to 10 tons and smaller cars could be drawn into its gravitational pull and be stuck orbiting it like a moon. Luckily it 1953 there were few small cars in the US.
OK there is actually much I could say about the 1:1 version but the main point would be that it had a V8 engine which is seen in photo #4. It was basically a stylish car with the rocket age styling but not over the top. It was designed by Harley Earl. The silver circles on the front fenders were called VentiPorts. A fourth was added in 1954.
As for the model I think the photos speak for themselves. The one moving feature is the hood which reveals a well detailed engine compartment.
Stay tuned for next week. A hint it has huge fins.
Fabulous classic Buick and that engine is such a cool feature. Look forward to the one with fins it's my favorite
All American Cars are exotic to me, they are super rare here in Portugal, i would love to own a 1:1 one :) great model!
My uncle had a big land cruiser Buick back in the '50s, but it was a hard top.
Thank you very much Newfld. They will be good fins.
Thank you very much Lata. They are so big you would have to go to spain to turn it around.
Thank you very much Toyrebel. One of those would be a great collectors car now.
