A find in the wild which means not from eBay or other online sources. This is a rather old King Size model that was produced from 1961-1966. 1960 was the first year for the King Size line so this from the second year of King Size. Not a very sophisticated model compared to those at the end of the decade. The dump bed on this lacks the dampening rod that holds the dump bed open. As seen in photo #3 the bed tips backward until stopped by a surface. These things may seem obvious now but no one had thought about it at that point.
The most interesting point about this model is the offset cab. The visible steering shaft can be seen in photos one and four. The driver is one the right hand side. The fender is fully exposed on the left hand side. Looks to be a fairly large truck and tough but not near quarry truck size. At least not the ones with the 10 foot tall tires that work in the open pit mines.
Next week will be a Yesteryear in B box. You will not want to miss that.
Well tamed Fort.
It looks great for age.
Thank you very much racer4four. It is doing OK for going on 60.
