It's really best to create a Collectors Weekly Show & Tell post of your own with pictures of your vintage Singer sewing machine, because while the Singer/ISMACS serial number tables are good, they aren't perfect.
I personally have had several experiences where the model information in the serial number tables was incorrect, but I was able to tell what the real model number was because the user provided pictures that were good enough for me to discern distinctive features.
Also, when people provide a hand-transcribed serial number, there's always the danger that they have a slip of the finger, or worse, deliberately omit some character such as a zero thinking that it doesn't matter (it does).
In the case of the sewing machine in this post, SeanPhipps provided sufficiently good pictures for me to determine that the serial number on his machine (Y856323) was allotted in 1923 (not 1932).
The pictures were also good enough for me to tell that it is in fact some flavor of a model 15, and the decal set is indeed what is called the "Sphinx," or "Memphis."

If you look in the pertinent Singer/ISMACS table, you'll find the block of serial numbers into which "AD598536" falls, along with the date it was allotted, and the model number associated with it.
Because of the aforementioned fallibility of the tables, it's probably wise to follow up by running your machine through Sandman-Collectibles' Singer Sewing Machine Identification Template to confirm the model number.
There are also resources to identify decal set names, face plate designs, and cabinet model numbers, as well as downloadable manuals, and information about the various world-wide Singer factories.

I was just checking, and in reading back, I realized that I wasn't altogether clear in what I said about the information provided in this post.
What I should have said: SeanPhipps provided a close-up picture of the serial number, allowing me to verify that he'd transcribed it correctly.
However, he stated that his machine was of 1932 vintage, which isn't corroborated by the pertinent entry in the Singer/ISMACS serial number table:

Sometimes there is some slippage between the time a block of serial numbers was allotted to a given Singer factory, and the time the associated machines were actually manufactured, but usually it's not as much as nine years (although per sewing machine expert Alex Askaroff, during WWII it could have been as much as six years).
SeanPhipps might have had a slip of the finger when he wrote "1932," or he misread the serial number tables, or he was going by what he'd been told was the acquisition date by a previous owner (who didn't necessarily buy it new).
