    This large tube weighs 1 1/4 lbs and has a circumference 14.5 inches marks on it are hard to see ,but show v--- N.J,, any idea as to what and for usage?

      My guess (only!) would be some variety of radio broadcast transmitter tube, given its very large size and most unique configuration of pins/etc. If not that, perhaps something which was part of another kind of otherwise 'huge and very heavy duty' industrial equipment.

      One thing it certainly *isn't* is something that ultimately plugged into somewhere in back of anybody's household radio/TV set...?! ;-) ;-) ;-)
