This Fritz Heckert vase is made of a very pretty milky opalescent glass (I believe FH's 'opal-cypern') with colorful enamel work and gilt. Similar to the colors in my previous enameled Heckert vase, the color palette consists of red, blue, yellow and white, but with green leaves. The vase itself is molded in an optic rib pattern, and it is signed in gilt on the base FH 44?? - it is too worn for me to decipher the rest. It measures 9" tall, and dates to c.1890.
What a interesting FH.. Has a French look to me ..
Thank you Marty - the forms of the flowers do look a bit French for some reason, I agree! :)
It is beautiful, Michelle, and after 130 years it would grace any style of home.
Michelle is the Heckert Queen!
