Hello Carol87 and welcome to Collectors Weekly: Clocks.
You do indeed have an antique Ansonia Clock. The model is called the "Michigan" and it is from 1886. Unfortunately, you clock seems to be missing its ornately carved top piece. There was probably a very ornate stenciling on the inside of the glass panel which is often lost with time. With that piece in place, the Michigan measures 24 1/4 inches tall.
This style of wood case clock is sometimes called a "Gingerbread", "Parlor" or "Kitchen" Clock.
Your "Michigan" must not be a very common model because I can't find any other examples online to show you what the top piece looks like. This is similar, but not exactly, what the missing top looks like:

Maybe the top was just a loose part among your Grandmother's things and never reattached. Sadly, once parts become separated, they are most often lost.
Hope that helps a little.
Again, welcome. If you're a collector, I hope you'll become a regular on the website. We have all manner of things here with many very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful folks.

Thank you very much Bruce! I will pass on the information along to my mom.
