Has no other markings on it! Has a green tinge handle and seems to me be steel....sheath looks to be the original one....hence the tear and rust to it
Who’s knows what type of boot knife this is | ||

Copy of a Gerber which I wore in my boot the whole time I lived in Jamaica.
Hello: You have a Gerber Mark 1 "Clone Dagger", made in Japan, in 1980-ish, and sold as "Rattler Brand", in my opinion. The Type of Knife is a Dagger, and meant for one purpose, which is to Kill. Your knife is probably even more scarce than the Actual Gerber Mark 1 itself, of which i own myself. In the 1980s, Japan had some of the Best Steel in the World, so I think You have a GREAT KNIFE !
You're probably right about the steel, but stainless usually doesn't hold an edge as well as high carbon steel. My Gerber would rust in a heartbeat.
I am right about the Steel, Look it up! Holding an Edge does not Matter so Much when Your Plunging it into another Persons Heart, Now Does It?
For every time this type of knife is used as a plunging weapon, there are probably several million utility uses to cut.
The style was popular in the Army-- more often plunged into an MRE or used to cut 550 cord, where an edge was needed.

Scott, I keep planes flying, and never once felt a reason to jump out of one, so no reason tp be cutting para cord. May have opened a few MRE's, but not with my Gerber. Only had 2 real times I had to use it. When living in Mo. Bay (Montego), I stopped a thief who was attempting to rob me and then when a Jamaican tried to grab my money off a bar when I was slumming with a friend. Thru reflections, I saw what he way planning to do and when he made his move for the money, I planted the blade thru his hand & into the wooden bar counter. He seemed frozen until I had to wiggle the blade to get it out of the counter. Never had any other reason to pull it for the 5 yrs. I lived there. Word gets around. LOL ! Izenglish, mine was not a copy. I'm peaceful, but will defend myself.
What those guys said... fyi... double edge daggers are federal offense in USA. You can get sevral years in prison for that, even if never leaves home.

Show me. Never heard of that-- only Federal regulation I ever heard of was concerning switchblades and interstate commerce. MANY states have laws.
