I'm really new at this site so I don't know just what to say! There are some wonderful things posted here. I have a collection of almost everything. My problem is finding out about the items! I research until I am seeing double! Many of my items are for sale with others, like my collection of "Genie Lamps" that I wouldn't part with for anything! I will be showing off some of my other treasures soon and will be looking forward to getting more acquainted with all of you.
The beautiful Tony Midnite dress that I have posted has a lovely story. I used to be in the Theatrical business and when producing a "Bogie & Bacal" stage production I had the need for a dress that would accent my beautiful model that played Lauren Bacal. Naturally, we hit all of the second hand and Vintage stores in Houston. Sure enough, there it was! The most beautiful sequined dress that absolutely called to me! It 'just happened' to fit my model and was just incredible when she and our Bogie danced the Tango in the production. I hate to part with it now but I'm too old to enjoy it any more and am sure it will go to someone that will love it as much as we all did!
Tony Midnite was an exceptional performer and a most talented costume designer! His creation lives on!
OH MY GOD! I am so in love with this dress! sigh.. i bet it was breathtaking on stage.
