Lucky finds on French EBay!
About Jules Wièse:
https://www.hancocks-london.com/maker/wi%C3%A8se/
The bracelet depicts a bird defending its nest and eggs against a snake.
The angels brooch has no mark when the bracelet has the maker's mark!
Beautiful.
Wow Pascale, these are some of your most beautiful pieces, I totally adore the bird defending its nest and the angel faces are so sweet, what fabulous finds!
Thank you Jean and Jenni!
I'm still amazed to have been able to catch them :-D
Not cheap stricto sensu, but still a good shot ;-)
WOW! Spectacular and beautiful pieces by a rare and refined maker, the bracelet is a major piece, very well done, congratulations!
Gorgeous ! Super find
Hi Pascale, did you see the similar brooch on the cover of the Osenat auction catalogue (item 14)? https://www.osenat.com/en/catalog/24647?
Really unusual pieces you have here- the bird is a fabulous colour of green! :)
Paul, these 19th century masters are hard to come by at good prices... Of course, now on the hunt for original cases ;-)
I saw many others in past auctions, more ornate with lavender pearls, which are to die for! But... Luck is luck!
Mary, Mani, Lauren, how sweet to see you here!
Thank you for your loves and kind comments!
I had to touch up enamel on nearly every leaf... Matching the existing color was a little tricky as it has a hint of turquoise in the green. The bracelet had an old velvet ribbon on back and I feared some links were unattached... Nope :-D
But... The clasp's tongue was broken! I had it masterfully repaired by a restorer who had a laser welding, and was able to save the maker's mark.
Phew...
The bracelet is just gorgeous!
What a fabulous post after your big break Pascale!
I am ignorant of this designer but wow, that bracelet. The bird, nest and eggs, sublimely made.
Congrats!
I hope the twins are well, I'm sure they have enjoyed your isolation.
Thank you so much Wpj and Racer4four for your loves and nice comments :-)
Karen, yes a big break, I'm on another site where you see mysteries to identify and marvels (among some junk stuff, lol) and where you can make digressions on the posts and have lot of fun, so... More active there chatting ;-)
The twins are big dogs now at 4 years old and still a little misheavious... Sure they enjoyed the lockdown with us!
Hope you're well and stay so!
Hey nice score.....'-))
Thanks Gary! :-))
Eileen, thank youuuuu!
It is around 1850, as the brooch so... 170 years old.
EBay still has some treasures, just have to scrutinize ;-)
Oh I missed this posting, time seems to have gotten away from me recently. What an absolute treasure ???? it’s a work of art and the concept of the whole piece is from a sensitive artist. Beautiful!
For some reason my exclamation marks are coming up as question marks so please read above .... exclaims not questions ????
Oh, Hollyhocks, thanks for your exclamative comment! ;-)))
Glad you found my post and loved it :-D
Your pieces always have a beautiful sentimentality to living things !~
Thank you Phil! You are... An angel! :-)
