I've now corrected the title and description (thankyou mp.kunst) I couldn't resist it at $4 local thrift store, and since I've learned it's a Japanese chalk ware made for Sears during 1920s/30s.A nicely decorated one ,12" high.

well i stick to Manitou and not to Natalie Alfers who is one of the majors assessors of the former van der HAM business an incidentally we cross swords and is a very nice person , probably a bit of a lazy assessment
IMO this is a theoratic alshut out , because of the follow up of the tarif act law 1890 which took place in 1921, IMO this is also stylistically 1921 -1929
