Five years ago when I started assembling A. Ruckl interwar Czech decorative glass, this decor of orange swirls application on a black glass background was an important one. Because it was one of the few who had been recognized as Ruckl by Jitka L. in the Czech Republic Glass Museum Tango Sklo Exhibits in 2012, and not only did she show the shape, but she showed the decor in blue background and in green back ground.
The black examples were produced in more shapes, which facilitated a number of identifications, I have never revealed how I started the process, the first piece was the large lidded round box in black and orange swirl, and then several of the spatter decors were also in this box shape.
Images represent my new Ruckl lidded jar, another jar image used with permission, which matches other Ruckl decors which I own and have posted here, one of the Ruckl exhibits at the Tango Sklo, and last another Ruckl Exhibit at the Tango Sklo. (You will note that I dont use the accent on the U, or add an e for proper spelling in English, my site is spelled rucklczglass, most people use Ruckl for searches)
Part I - to do an initial representation with the new jar as focus.
Part II - to add more examples in either shape or decor, to extend a wider study and attribution process.
A series of boxes from my site:

Very nice post Lisa, I'll try to learn some of these things about Ruckl Czech Glass! :^D I like the way your Photo presentation is from single(narrow) to many(wider), I'll have to try that some time! Thanks for showing, and Stay Safe by Wearing your Mask! Like I Know You will! :^)
Thanks Bill, I will, and I wish every body did.
I wish that you did care about that Umlaut.
If you can say Strüdel it’s not that hard to get the sound right in Rückl rather than the u in Ruckl as in buckle.
Can we see the new piece with its lid off, please ???
Which is the new piece Lisa? image 1 or 2?
Because I'm not convinced image 1 is Rückl as I've seen this shape before with Kralik décors.
I would also like to see the new piece (Image 1) with its lid off. I can't be convinced it has the same shape (as Tango Sklo in Image 3) unless the very top of the piece is concealing a further 'ring'.
The lid and jar image 1 is mine and just bought, a seller image, I have no room for more at the moment, when I receive it, I will post more, I can tell you it is a straight up upper rim, and the lid sits partway over it, so it looks like this one:

and this one
Phil, I know what you mean, there are swirl decors that are Kralik, and some are Ruckl. This is divided by shapes and not by decors. My part ll post is going to be more elaborate with the swirl pieces. But this new multiple ring jar I show is Ruckl.
As this one is too:

I remember the background glass of some had a brushed effect with vertical background lines. Most are not marked but I did have a marked short jar with the Kralik arch, or now maybe Steinwald.

This is for image 2, another Ruckl jar:

Very nice new acquisition......from a European source? The second photo lidded jar is even more impressive in MHO. Bob
Thanks Bob, glad YOU especially like them. No, from a Canadian seller in North York, isn't that funny, sort of next door for us.
I think Canada got a different kind of Czech glass selection, and it is not marked. Have a good weekend with your family.
This image 1 glass piece has arrived, worth doing a new post, to show what everybody wanted to see, the upper rim, and a side by side comparison of another jar in the same shape but not lidded as in the Tango Sklo image 3, back row spatter jar.
