Picked this little trinket up. It's a WWII German dress bayonet. Probably NCO. Made by WKC. These were private purchases by the soldiers & this must have been well cared for. Usually a dint or 2 in the scabbards, but this is as perfect as I've ever seen. The scabbard appears chromed instead of the sometimes nickel plated. Actually, most are painted black, but individuals could choose what finish etc.. Why did I get it ? I HAVE NO BLOODY IDEA !! I've got so many weapons lying around that I'm even beginning to worry about me too. Well, back to "living and dying in 3/4 time". LOL.
No cat. for knives ? Should have put it under Easter Postcards just to yank Hunter's chain for laughs.
Now that’s a Fancy knife :) Hope you are well bb2 :)
This is not the usual souvenir knife from the middle east. That is a nice find. I have plenty of knives myself but I am just getting started.
Here is the real story behind this. I bid on it while bidding was heavy. When bidding got slow except for one bidder, I thought the seller should get a better price, and so added a few bids to get the enthusiastic bidder to go higher. When I figured he had reached his limit, I stopped. Next thing I know, the top bidder had retracted and I was stuck buying it at a higher price than I would have actually wanted to bid. Then the bloody thing cost me $20 in shipping from Miami ! No good deed goes unpunished. LOL !! Auctions can be dangerous ! I'm happy with it.
very nice knifes !!
Thanks Sean. I married it with an orig. portepee now.
your very welcome blunderbuss :)
