Hi everyone. I have a pair of 16 in tall vases that I believe are Bristol glass. They have the signs......thick glass but lightweight. A smooth, satin almost "soft" feel to the surface. Hand painted enameling. I am trying to determine year of manufacture and country of origin. Possibly English? Bohemia? Any thoughts? Thanks for the help everyone.
I posted this a year ago and finally tonight I have found the origin. They are truly Bristol Glass and This stunning pair of Art Nouveau mantel vases were manufactured by the Krystallglasfabrik Freiherr von Poschinger Glass Works, Bavaria, Germany, Circa 1880-1915.
The Freiherr von Poschinger Glass Works has stood for skilled craftsmanship and superlative quality in glass over four and a half centuries. Located within Bavaria, Germany, they have been in business since 1568 and has been continuously owned and operated by the family of Baron von Poschinger, Europe’s premium manufacturers of custom and specialty glass. Most of the commonly seen art glass made by von Poschinger dates from the 1880 to 1915 jugendstil period.
Hey Sharky, if you can, it might help to add a photo of the bottom, and the top of these beauties. They are close to a mirrored pair, just slight differences, are the the same image on both sides, or a continued pattern?
Thanks for showing, I see that you already saw my possible Bristol Glass Vases! Good Luck! :^D Take Care and Wear a Mask to help slow the spread of COVID-19! :^)
Thank you Billretirecoll, I will do my best to add those photos today. Stay tuned :)
