Another buy from a shop that's having a closing down sale, I've been admiring this Art Nouveau vase for quite a while.
As this decor was made by a few manufacturers in Bohemia, I am not going to speculate on the maker at this point in time.
The vase is made from a single layer of clear yellowish - green glass, with a large stylised flower streaked in pink & white. The vase has an intense iridescent finish, & measures 20.5 cm tall, 6.7 cm across the cut & polished top rim, & 9.5 cm across the base. It has a very simple conical form, & the stem of the flower swirls its way down to the base, where it finishes underneath. No pontil mark.
Bohemian origin.
Beautiful, Marin! It almost looks like it is even growing out of the ground! I have a similar vase that is more angular, and believe it is by Kralik. Whoever made yours, it is a lovely piece of glass! :)
Thanks so much, Michelle! Yes, this type of glass certainly sits perfectly in a natural setting. Now I'm going to have a look at your example...
A realy beauty-- Love it in its' natural environment!
