Still yet another from my Yesteryear Gift set. One more to go after this. This model being the Y-9 1912 Simplex. It was produced for many years but only in this color scheme from 1968-1969. In the 1970 it turned gold as Lesney was going all garish to compete with Hot Wheels. Now the green color may seem a bit bright as people seem to think all cars were painted black back then. But they were actually quite colorful. Even the Model T wasn't available in black for several years.
The Simplex cars seemed to be still yet another luxury car. The company lasted until 1917. I believe there were over 30,000 car companies at one time and not many survived.
What a wonderful old time car & fantastic bright green
Cool, although I'm pretty sure the colour scheme was not used in 1912.
Never know though! Someone might have been a lair.
Thank you very much Newfld. Not quite as bright in person.
Thank you very much racer4four. I shall look up the Nethercuttt collection.
