I am very excited today because my wonderful Edith Linnell brooch arrived yesterday and I get to post it here. The quality and workmanship in this beauty have blown me away. The stones are really this colour , no enhancement done. The silver work is beautiful and it is heavy gauge. So so much work in this. I have been trying very hard to source information on Edith Linnell but it is so difficult to find much at all about her life. She seems to be a bit invisible where the arts and crafts jewel historians are concerned. It’s mighty frustrating because I am hungry for information about her. Anyway I’m afraid I am gloating a bit today because this beauty is mine now ???????????? Gloat Gloat ????

The combination of the Amethyst and the green stones are marvellous. Can you tell me what the green stones are, could they be green garnets?

Hi Jean , I thought you might like this one ????I am so lucky to have it . My collection is just in its infancy nothing like the Many treasures you have But I think I will always be proud to own this one. I actually don’t know what the green stones are , I thought they were perhaps paste before I received the piece but they are cold to the touch like a gemstone is . I will find out eventually although it doesn’t really matter to me because it’s the feeling of the piece and the huge amount of handwork that has gone into it that has blown my socks off ????

      Wooohhh! Worth the wait ;-)
How subtle is the delightful light purple enamel frame!
Don't know what the green stones are, emerald color but they seem hazy inside.
      Superb combo, bravo :-)

Hello D, Yes the pale mauve frame is just the perfect backdrop ! I agree the colour combo is lovely , in fact with the bright silver , green and Amethyst I'm feeling a little bit of Suffragette coming on :)
Thanks for looking in and commenting, it's lovely that people take the time.

Oh gosh I wouldn’t get mad at anyone for voicing their opinion. I know this looks really modern doesn’t it but it probably dates from 1920’ or 30s . There are other examples online that are from the same series of work for sale in top notch shops. If you google Edith Linnell and go to images you will see other lovely pieces of her work . Thanks for commenting.
