Hello, I found this at the flea this past Sunday. Seller didn't know what to call it, others looked and still no definitive answer. I have a few guesses of my own, but I will wait until I hear from you guys/gals!!! It weighs in at 3 pounds, and the ball end looks like it has never been struck. The pins are actually nails, former owner put in a few coated nail replacements. I am guessing the original nails were hardened, as in a masonry nail, Thanks for looking, Lou

Meat tenderizer ? To kill those early air-bags ? Conch mallet ?

I wonder if this could have been an early automobile emergency tool when you're traped inside. I know the ball end would be used to break out a window but I have no idea what purpose the end with nails has. Seatbelts didn't exist back then so it might have been for something else. Could have been like BB said: early airbag "popper"

A stone carver would use this to texture the surface . Handle has been shortened/broken .

I thought of that but figure the "prongs" are too long for that. Hey McCoy, that's BB2 to you until I know you better. LMAO ! Had a friend who just moved to Dunkin, OK. Asked him what it was known for and he said, "For it's bypass". LOL !!

Hello, All. Thanks for the replies. One of my early guesses was a Bush Hammer for concrete, never thought of stone. I will start looking in that direction.I think it's a little too heavy for a Meat Tenderizer, it would be more like a Meat Pulverizer!!!

Not too heavy if you start tenderizing before the animal is dead. LOL !
