The appeal here was the glass and its fabrication, this is a lovely perfume bottle without it's stopper. I can't say I am familiar with this combination of iridescent finish, heavy red glass interior layer, and a gentle green and yellow spatter decor with clear glass exterior. Measures 4 by 5 inches, no mark, the substantial rim is polished, no pontil.
Thank you for the loves CW members, always much appreciated.
Except for the red of the glass interior, it looks like a couple of my Japanese pieces. My pieces have a black interior.
Oops. Double checked and one of my Kurata vases has a red interior..
Kevin, that is interesting. Did they make small bottles?
I could not decide between the European makers, and the glass is not worn or aged in anyway, a real puzzle. Thank you,
Really pretty piece.
I have not seen small bottles, perfume bottles, etc..
I. W. Rice imported many different perfume bottles from Japan into the U.S. I couldn't find out who made them in Japan.
Thanks Kevin, I will look them up.
