1950s Japanese Horse Prints - Urushibara Mokuchu
I bought these in 2008 from a couple that purchased the prints in Japan. Each print has a wood block stamp near the top right of the print and a signature in the lower right of the print.
I've always admired these prints. They appear very spiritual. Always kept them close by. I like them a lot. They are not perfect, but what is?
This is from my e-mail records of the purchase. As you purchase items you need to make sure you keep a good record of information associated with your pieces.
"Hi Dave and thanks for your purchase of the two horse prints. This is the
only real information I have about the prints as you asked. We were in Japan
from 1961-1963."
"The Japanese seal mentions print - wood - insect - Honey Church. They were
purchased in the early 1960's in an art studio in Japan."
Seems they are both woodblock print by Urushibara Mokuchu (1888-1953).

Thank you for the information. I guess I never tried to search for this.
My mother was Japanese and she passed recently. Her eyesight was too bad over the last several years to be able to read what it said.
So thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Now I have more complete information on these prints which I love so much.
