These are actually about 5 and a half inches tall a bit shorter than the Marx figures. That would be typical of MPC who tended to make smaller cheaper versions of Marx figures. Marx made Marines but these could either be marines or US Army.
In real life the guy with the walkie talkie is the most dangerous. He had the US Army, Air Force and possibly Navy at his finger tips. He is probably talking to someone with a proper radio so an artillery strike could be coming in 2 minutes. Or perhaps a platoon of tanks or an air strike from P47 Thunderbolts. He is armed with an M1 Carbine. I like the M1 Carbine myself, very light and easy to shoot. The M1 Garand is a bit of a handful.
The guy with a radio may be the most dangerous but kids will go for the flame thrower guy. Radio guy will probably be a casualty . Flame thrower guy has the only weapon capable of taking out the dreaded pillbox. Marx made a 6" scale pillbox for the Germans or Japanese and the pillbox is nearly invincible. Only the flamethrower guy or the grenade throwing guy can take it out. But the grenade guy needs to get close enough so he can drop the grenade in the slot. Please not grenade guy is not pictured but we all know the pose.
My favorite thing about flamethrower guy is the bit of flame coming out of his flame thrower. That was a very nice touch.
