This is a 19th century handpainted tile. I got it for 0.25€
The lady that sold it to me had no idea what it was, or where it came from, hence the price!
I don't know where it came from, probably will never know, but it's worth much more than that to me! It's a tiny piece of history.
I can imagine the guys, in their ratty espadrilles, aprons full of paint, quickly turning a few brushstrokes into a beautiful scene.

Hi Esther, there is a fantastic pottery Museum in Barcelona . It is at the Univercity ajoining the also great Decorative Arts museum . Someone there would be able to pinpoint the region and era of manufacture.
Wish I had months to spend in that museum , so many beautiful things.

Thanks Ozmarty! I will check them out, but funny enough, I bought it in Miami at a garage sale.
They look either spanish or portuguese. I guess the guys in Barcelona will be able to tell me.

      Hi Esther,
this isn't too dissimilar from a tile i've just posted, i think the one i have is Spanish too, but I'm not sure as i know nothing about these.
I love the movement, portrayed by just a few brush strokes, on both.
